Dense fog enveloped Bhubaneswar early Monday morning, disrupting normal life across the city as visibility dropped sharply in several areas.
A thick blanket of fog covered major roads, residential localities, and highways, significantly reducing visibility and affecting daily activities. The city skyline remained obscured for hours, with many areas appearing shrouded in what looked like white smoke.
Traffic Movement Affected
The heavy fog led to traffic disruptions, particularly along the national highway and other key arterial roads. Vehicles were seen moving at a slow pace as drivers navigated through poor visibility conditions. Commuters faced inconvenience during the early morning rush, with traffic flow slowing considerably in several parts of the city.

Motorists exercised caution to avoid accidents, while pedestrians also reported difficulty in navigating through the dense mist. The low-visibility conditions persisted for several hours after dawn, impacting routine movement.
Cold Wave Intensifies
The foggy spell comes amid a noticeable intensification of cold weather in the region over the past few days. The combined effect of dense fog and chilly conditions has added to discomfort, particularly during the early morning hours.
While no major incidents have been reported so far, authorities have advised commuters to remain cautious while travelling under low-visibility conditions.
