Decomposed carcass of tusker found with tusks missing

Athgarh: A decomposed carcass of a tusker was recovered from the Hatimundia Hill jungle within the Khuntuni forest range of Athgarh today. The tusker is said to be around 25 years old.

According to sources, the trunk of the tusker was found chopped. As per preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the elephant was killed and the tusks taken away by miscreants.

After receiving information, the Athgarh DFO and Cuttack DFO have reached the spot and have launched an investigation.
