Bhubaneswar: On the direction of the Government after Saturday meeting, Bolangir district administration has geared up to start the construction work of Lower Suktel Irrigation Project, the life-line of Bolangir, from January 15,2013.
 
On the other hand, the Lower Suktel Action Committee has called off its agitation after government assured to start the construction work without any further delay. For the early execution of work, the water resources department secretary would visit the submergence area soon and would discuss with the people who are opposing the project.
 
All decks were cleared after the meeting between the government and Lower Suktel action committee on Saturday in Bhubaneswar. Both government and the committee expressed pleasure as the meeting yielded fruitful result.
 
Official sources said the government complied with seven demands out of 11 made by the committee while government sought suggestion from law department on other three demands. However, remaining one has remained still unsolved.
 
The three demands which have awaited opinion from law department include non-refund of  more compensation given to the people of submergence area, re-evaluation of property and re-evaluation on present situation of properties. Similarly, the unsolved demand is compensation as per R& R policy, 2011.
