Dead Body Inside Anganwadi Sparks Tension In Odisha; Cops Attacked

Malkangiri: Recovery of the dead body of a man, who was missing since Friday, from an anganwadi centre yesterday sparked tension at Jantapai area under Papermetla Police Station in Malkangiri district on Monday. Alleging that the deceased, Raju Hantal was murdered by jawans, locals staged a demonstration by placing dead body in front of Papermetla Police station.

The family members refused to claim the body of deceased Raju even after the post mortem.

Palpable tension prevailed in the area after a mob reportedly attacked the police personnel present on the spot. Sources said two police personnel were injured in the incident.

As per reports, the Raju Hantal was missing from the local market on Friday. Raju allegedly went with two persons and did not return home. Later on Sunday, Raju’s body with multiple injuries was recovered from the kitchen room of an Anganwadi centre at Jantapai village under Chitrakonda block.
