DA case: Dhenkanal RTO under Vigilance scanner

Dhenkanal: The Vigilance officials on Friday conducted raids on the office and houses of Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Dhenkanal district, Dibakar Singh on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on a tip off, the anti-graft officials of Bhubaneswar division conducted simultaneous searches at his rented house in Kunjakanta of Dhenkanal and houses at Bhubaneswar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Sources said a five-member team of the Vigilance also searched Singh's office in Dhenkanal town and later took him to Bhubaneswar for further interrogation.

The exact amount of disproportionate assets recovered during the searches will be known only after the raids are over, said an official.

Earlier, on July 5, the Vigilance had unearthed assests worth Rs 3.85 crore after conducting raids on the houses and office of Dhenkanal RTO, Basant Kumar Behera.
