D-brothers link: Ex Rourkela Councillor detained

Cuttack: Former Councillor of Rourkela Ashesa Mohanty alias Bulu on Monday was detained by the Commissionerate Police for allegedly having connections with the arrested Dhalasamant brothers.

Earlier in the day, he appeared before Chauliaganj Police in Cuttack for questioning.

A notice was issued to Mohanty on March 4 asking him to appear before the police within seven days.

Sources said the Commissionerate Police has come to know Mohanty has had business deals with the D-brothers for many years. Therefore, his involvement in the criminal activities of the D-brothers is suspected, the source added.

Meanwhile, Mohanty told media persons, “After getting the notice, which had mentioned that I had links with the D-brothers, I came to the police station today to clarify that such things never existed.”
