The Marwari Society in Cuttack observed deepotsav with religious fervour on Monday evening following the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.

On the fourth day of the silver jubilee function of the Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO) in Cuttack, a workshop on ‘Low Budget Filmmaking’ was organised. 

Congress corporator Santosh Bhola said, "Massive irregularities have been done in Bali Yatra projects. The Committee that was formed to probe the scam has not made its report public. I was inquiring about it on Friday. The CMC is not interested in looking into the irregularities.”

While speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a workshop organised to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of Biju Pattnaik Film & Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO), Panda congratulated the entire team and alumnus of the institute.

He was a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and had won the 6th Lok Sabha from Berhampur constituency in 1999. He breathed his last at his residence in Cuttack’s CDA, Sector-6.

The single-judge bench of the Orissa High Court allowed the document verification process of the candidates which is scheduled on January 20 and January 21, 2024.

The Orissa High Court in November 2023, expressed its displeasure over the delay in the restoration work of Puri Srimandir Natamandap and directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to start its work from November 16.

Tension gripped the government veterinary hospital at Buxi Bazaar in Cuttack when local people thronged the facility and objected to the practice of doctors using prescription papers with the branding of a private medicine store. 

As per reports, the bus bearing registration number OD 33V 3513 was en route to Bhubaneswar from Cuttack when it hit a car from the rear near Barang. While the car was partially damaged in the mishap, the locals detained the bus alleging irresponsible driving by the driver.

A loot incident was captured in a CCTV installed there. The CCTV footage showed a woman devotee detaining a thief and enquiring about a stolen article while an accomplice of the detainee was seen fleeing the scene.

As per reports, the duo was on their way to Cuttack from Niali on a bike when the rider's neck was cut with a stray Chinese kite string. The rider lost balance and fell from the bike injuring the pillion rider too.
