The millennium city of Cuttack is all set to bid an emotional farewell to Maa Kali as thousands are expected to participate in the grand idol immersion procession, marking the culmination of the ongoing Kali Puja celebrations. Beautifully decorated chariots and tableaux moved through the streets, filling the city with a vibrant festive spirit on Friday.
To ensure a smooth and safe immersion, the Cuttack Police made elaborate security arrangements. Heavy police deployment has been made in place across key routes, with personnel monitoring the procession from narrow lanes to major intersections. Officers maintained strict surveillance and guided the crowds to prevent congestion or mishaps.
Under the leadership of Cuttack DCP Rishikesh Khilari, the police conducted a flag march from Cuttack Railway Station to Puri Ghat Devi Gada, ensuring a secure passage for the idol immersion. The arrangements aimed to maintain law and order and allow devotees to celebrate peacefully.
Around 50 platoons of security forces have been posted to maintain peace and order during the festivities. Drones and CCTV cameras are also deployed in every lane to keep an eye on the situation.

After the recent unrest during Durga Puja idol immersion, the overall security arrangement has been tightened in Cuttack. Authorities have laid down strict measures for Committee members to ensure a smooth and safe immersion ceremony.
Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that devotees can participate in the immersion safely while celebrating Maa Kali’s festival with devotion and joy.
