Cuttack dist admin takes control of Barabati Palace

Cuttack: The district administration took possession of Barabati Palace, a marriage mandap situated in the premise of Barabati Satdium, and adjoined shops while acting as per directive of the Orissa High Court (HC) on Sunday.

Sources said the administration took control of Barabati Palace, which was managed by the Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) earlier, through Sadar Tehsildar.

The HC, on Saturday, directed the district Collector to acquire the marriage mandap and adjoined shops.

Besides, the court asked the state Crime Branch to probe into activities of the OOA and submit a report within three months.
