The Commissionerate Police has rolled out an extensive traffic and parking management plan for Bali Yatra 2025, beginning today, in Cuttack. The historic fair will continue till November 12.

The measures are aimed at ensuring seamless vehicular movement and safety for the lakhs of visitors expected to attend the annual fair celebrating Odisha’s ancient maritime trade heritage.

Traffic Restrictions In Force

Traffic regulations will remain effective from 2 pm each day until the dispersal of the crowd, informed the Commissionerate Police in an advisory. However, emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire tenders, and utility services, will remain exempt.

To reduce congestion near the fairgrounds, vehicles from Bhubaneswar via Nandankanan and Netaji Setu must turn left at Bellevue Chhak (Judicial Academy), proceed through CDA-11 to Biju Patnaik Park, and park at Bhuasuni Ground or Krushak Bazaar Ground. From these locations, visitors can avail shuttle bus/ Mo Bus services to the Bali Yatra venue.

Two-wheelers arriving from Athagarh and Banki through Naraj Bridge and Madhusudan Bridge can use Bhuasuni Ground, Gora Kabar Ground, or Christian Ground for parking before boarding shuttle buses to the fair. Meanwhile, two-wheelers from Satichaura via Shelter and Kanika Chhak are directed to park at Daya Ashram Ground or Upper Bali Yatra Ground (Zone I & II).

Vehicle Restrictions And Diversions

No vehicles will be permitted to proceed towards the fairground from Deer Park or Madhukunj Park Square, and entry will also be restricted from Chandi Chhak via Cambridge School for four-wheelers and auto-rickshaws. Those approaching from Chahata Square may use the designated parking zones at Bhuasuni Ground, Gora Kabar Ground, or Christian Ground.

Parking Locations Designated

The Commissionerate Police has earmarked multiple parking zones across Cuttack to accommodate both two-wheelers and four-wheelers:

  1. Krushak Bazar Field, Bidanasi
  2. Bhuasuni Field, Chahata
  3. Gora Kabar Field, Tulasipur (both 2 and wheeler)
  4. Christian Field, near Anand Bhawan, Tulasipur (both 2 and wheeler)
  5. Daya Ashram Field, Tulasipur
  6. Silver City Boat Club (1–4) and DCP Office Field
  7. Matamath Parking Field
  8. Bose Engineering College Field
  9. Hadia Patha Parking Field, Jobra
  10. Upper Bali Yatra Ground Zones 1 and 2 (two-wheelers only)

Bali Yatra 2025 Begins

The week-long Bali Yatra 2025 kicked off today and will continue till November 12 on the historic Bali Yatra fairgrounds in Cuttack City.

The festival, often described as Asia’s largest open-air trade fair, stretches across over 60 acres and features around 1,700 stalls from Odisha and other states this year.

Showcasing the state’s maritime history, crafts, and culture, the event’s special segment, ‘Cuttack in Cuttack’, will celebrate local art, literature, and Odia heritage. The fairgrounds are also hosting installations by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) and numerous small traders.
