In a shocking and heartbreaking incident, a newborn baby boy was found abandoned inside a bag near a bush at Ramchandrapur under Gopalpur police limits in Ganjam district on Sunday morning.

According to reports, some locals heard the faint cries of an infant coming from the bushes and immediately informed the Childline team and District Child Protection Officer (DCPO). Acting swiftly, the team reached the spot and rescued the baby, who was found in a weak and critical condition, suffering from multiple ant bites.

The infant, believed to be just a couple of days old, was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for urgent medical care. Hospital authorities confirmed that the umbilical cord was still attached, indicating that the child was abandoned shortly after birth.
