CRPF jawan dies under mysterious circumstances inside Sambalpur camp

Sambalpur: A jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died after being rescued in critical condition with a bullet injury on his head inside Jujumara camp in Sambalpur today. The deceased has been identified as Buta Singh.

Sources said three rounds were fired while a rifle and a mobile phone were found lying near Singh’s body inside the camp. Following the incident, Singh was immediately rushed to hospital. However, the doctors at VSS medical in Burla declared him brought-dead.

As per reports, Singh had sustained bullet injuries on his head from his own Insas rifle. It is still unclear whether the jawan attempted suicide or there is any other reason behind the incident as no clarification has been received from the CRPF officials yet.
