Bhubaneswar: The Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) director general (DG) Prakash Mishra would visit cut-off area in Odisha on Monday to take stock of its operations against Maoists in the state, said sources.

This is would Mishra’s first review of the situation in the state after becoming chief of the central paramilitary force.

He would also go to a CRPF camp in Rayagada.

Meanwhile, the state police have intensified its operation to break the safe haven of ultras in the cut-off area.

In recent times, the police have launched operations to nab Ram Krishna, a top Maoist cadre, who is operating in the state, sources added.

After Sabyaschi Panda’s arrest, the main focus of the security personnel is to stop the entry of cadres from other states, they added.

Combing operations are intensified on the basis of intelligence reports on the ground level, said Jaswant Jethwa, IG, South-western range.
