Cuttack: Vigilance department officials today detected assets over Rs 2.39 crore belonging to Kiran Kumar Samantray, who is posted as junior clerk at the Board of Revenue in Cuttack. This was revealed after the anti-corruption wing of the State government conducted raids based on allegations against Samantray of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Sources said the raids were carried out at multiple locations including the office and residence of Samantray in CDA and Bidanasi areas. The raids were carried out by the officials of the Cuttack Vigilance department.

After the raids, the vigilance officials found cumulative assets worth Rs 2,39,39,316 belonging to Samantray including a four storied building and two three storied buildings at Seikh Bazar and Deulasahi worth nearly Rs 1.54 crore.

Besides, gold ornaments worth Rs 7,92,000 and bank deposits to the tune of Rs 13,91,417 have also been traced, official sources said.
