Paradip: CPI today warned that communal forces might capitalize people`s anger against the UPA government for rampant corruption and price rise to wrest power.

"We are apprehensive that communal forces may take advantage of the public sentiment against the UPA Government for corruption and price rise and attempt to grab power at the Centre", CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan told a public meeting here after inaugurating the three-day state executive of CPI.

Stating that even 65 years of Independence there were over 40 crore people below the poverty line, he said the country had over 50 crore illiterates and 10 crore unemployed.

Turning to ruling BJD in Odisha, he alleged that the state government was corrupt and demanded immediate release of the Anti-Posco movement leader Abhay Sahoo.
