Bhubaneswar: It is not right to classify corruption as minor or major for corruption has only one definition and the people of the country should have zero-tolerance towards corruption said former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde in his address at the 79th Commemoration ceremony of late socialist leader Pradyumna Bal here.

Justice Hegde whose report on the mining scam in Karnataka was instrumental for sending former BJP chief minister Yeddyurappa to jail warned that bracketing corruption as minor and major would pose threat very much for the survival of democracy in the country. A crucial face of Team Anna who also was a member of the Joint Lok Pal Bill Draft Committe, Justice Hegde implored the political and bureaucratic classes for the corruption in the country and advised that administrative system should function in such a manner that the benefits of government policies must reach the commanman.

Noted social activist Dhobendri Mohapatra was conferred with the Pradyuman Bal Memorial Award for his lifelong service to the society. Chief minister Naveen Pattanaik and noted educationist Omkarnath Mohanty graced the ceremony.
