Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police on Saturday sealed two dance bars operating without license in Bhubaneswar. Seven girls were also rescued by special teams after raids on three dance bars yesterday. The dance bars were sealed for engaging bar dancers without necessary license, sources said.

Four police teams including officials of special squad conducted simultaneous raids on dance bars at different locations in the city. A senior official requesting anonymity said not a single dance bar has been given music licence this year.

This is the third major raid of Commissionerate police this month on dance bars which were operating stealthily in different parts of the city.

On Friday, police raided a dance bar operating illegally at Kharavel Nagar and rescued 10 girls.

It is pertinnent to mention that Commissionerate police decided to act tough against dance bars following reports of violation of rules for operating such establishments in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
