Cuttack: The Odisha Police Havildar, Constable and Sepoy Association today demanded Crime Branch investigation into the alleged assault on two police personnel inside the High Court premises in Cuttack on October 29.

Despite a complaint lodged with the Commissionerate Police, the cops are yet to take any action in the incident, the association alleged during a meeting held today on its future course of action.

“The investigation regarding the assault on the on-duty constables inside the HC premises was handed over to the Commissionerate Police. However no legal steps have been taken so far. We do not believe the CP anymore and request the High Court to direct the Crime Branch to take up the matter,” demanded the president of the association, Santosh Satapathy after the meeting.

Satapathy further requested the High Court to monitor the entire investigation.

It may be noted that the body has been demanding the arrest of the accused involved in the attack.

The association had on November 1 also threatened to launch a cease-work agitation if culprits involved in alleged assault were not arrested within 48 hours.

It had resorted to agitation over three-point charter of demands. However, after an assurance from the State Government and Police Commisioner, the association had called off its agitation.
