Cooperative society employees gherao minister’s residence

Bhubaneswar: Members of the cooperative society employees’ association gheraoed Cooperation Minister SN Patro’s residence today demanding fulfillment of several demands.

The cooperative society employees are demanding fulfillment of a 7-point charter of demands which includes regularization of jobs, an administrative fund for Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and among others. The employees have threatened to block the KALIA scheme of the government if their demands are not fulfilled.

General secretary of the association, Digamber Naik said “Though the agitation is continuing and discussions are on with various government authorities, no headway has been made. While the State Government has announced the KALIA scheme which will be implemented by the cooperative society employees; if our demands are not fulfilled, we will not provide our support in implementation.”
