Cooking Oil ‘Adulteration’ Unit Busted In Odisha

Cuttack: Tangi Police today busted a cooking oil ‘adulteration’ unit operating out of Manguli square in the suburbs of Cuttack.

As per reports, huge amount of oil, tin cans and packaging materials were seized from three warehouses in the area during raid. It is alleged that the unit was engaged in adulterating cooking oil.

Speaking to OTV, the Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Choudwar said, “We have sent the oil samples for chemical analysis and awaiting report. We are verifying all the documents and checking if any trademark laws were violated.”

Meanwhile, police have sealed the warehouses and detained its owner Gopal Gupta for further investigation.

In August last year, a fake mustard oil packaging unit was raided in Cuttack. Similarly another ghee and edible oil adulteration unit in Bhubaneswar was busted last September.
