Kendrapara: After the Supreme Court’s landmark verdict decriminalising ‘homosexuality’ on September 6 last year, reports of two girls tying nuptial knot has become the talk of the town in Kendrapara.

According to reports, a girl from Mahakalpara area and another one from Pattamundai had developed a strong liking towards each other and had been in relationship for quite some time.

Despite protests from their families, the couple tied the nuptial knot on Saturday.

However, the father of the girl from Pattamundai has filed a police complaint alleging that his daughter is innocent and has been cheated by the other girl.

“The other girl has performed black magic on my daughter while she had gone to her uncle’s house,” he alleged.

Police have said that the couple will be interrogated in connection with the matter.

"The girl will be interrogated to ascertain whether she has been forced to maintain relationship with the other girl or it was her own choice," Pramod Mallick, IIC of Pattamundai Police Station, said.

Earlier on December 28, two women from Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, who were allegedly in a relationship, were found hanging in a room at Bolayadiha under Gamharia police limits of Jharkhand.
