Congress workers wave black flags at Minister Patro

Bolangir: Several Congress workers on Sunday waved black flags at Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Surya Narayan Patro alleging failure of state government in providing crop insurance to farmers in the district.

Members of the district Congress holding black flags stopped the Minister’s convoy at Karkachiya square near Chandanbhati under Lohisingha in Bolangir district.

The protestors also voiced their protest over non-invitation of the local legislator to inaugural programmes of various projects in the assembly constituency. Later police officials present at the spot stopped the protesting Congress workers and brought the situation under control.

As per reports, Patro was on his way to inaugurate various development projects.
