Bhubaneswar: The second day of the winter session of Odisha Assembly witnessed uproarious scenes today with Congress MLA disrupting the proceedings during Question Hour and accusing SC and ST Development Minister, Ramesh Majhi of presenting misleading facts in the House.

Congress members alleged that members for Tribal Development Council are being selected on the basis of party affiliation. Moreover, the Council has been formed only to rehabilitate BJD men and crores of rupees are also spent in various projects without tenders.

As the concerned minister has present wrong facts, a privilege motion will be moved against him, alleged Congress chief whip, Tara Prasad Bahinipati.

"This is not Naveen babu's paternal property that the tax collected from the poor is used for the scheme. Members of BJD have been picked as members of the Council. The deal is being finalised without any tender," Bahinipati said.

On the other hand BJP MLA Rabi Naik alleged that funds from the Centre meant for tribals are being diverted and used for other purposes by the State government.

Responding to the allegations, SC and ST Development Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi, said," We have ensured that the funds allocated for every district are used wisely. People from tribal communities have been made members and they do not represent any party.”
