Bhubaneswar: Terming the Ujjwala Yojana as a ‘jumla’ (false promise) of BJP, the Congress party today accused the saffron party of taking commission from LPG manufacturers.

Congress spokesperson Sonali Sahu in a presser stated that BJP is busy in collecting commission from LPG manufacturers in the name of Ujjwala Yojana while women are feeling the pinch of rising cost.

She also alleged the State government is also mum on the corruption in Ujjwala Yojana, adding that BJD and BJP are shielding each other and are engaged in war of words only on TV shows.

“How much BJP has collected as commission from LPG tank manufacturers? This should be clarified by the Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,” stated Sahu.

Refuting the charges, Pradhan said, “How can Congress talk about the issues of Odisha as it was in power for a long period in the State? It has played a major role in looting the State.”

No comments could be obtained from BJD over the issue.
