Bhubaneswar: Days after announcing his decision to quit from his post, Koraput Congress MLA Krushna Chandra Sagaria today submitted his resignation to Odisha Assembly Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat.

He had announced his decision to quit from the membership of Odisha Legislative Assembly last month citing failure to provide justice to Kunduli gang rape victim.

"I have submitted my resignation to Assembly speaker and he has accepted it but I will continue to work for the Congress party," Sagaria said.

Sagaria had accused the State government of attempting to hoodwink people on the pretext of judicial commission and crime branch probe but to no avail. He had also held himself responsible for injustice to Kunduli girl.

While Sagaria had ruled out any infighting with Jeypore MLA and Congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati being the reason behind his decision, speculations were rife that he was reportedly unhappy over the allotment of posts in the party.
