Bhubaneswar: During question hour in Assembly on Monday, members of Congress walked out of the house protesting against Raghunath Mohanty’s remarks on National Pilot Project for Repairs, Renovation and Restoration (RRR) of water bodies in the state.

Members of Congress raised questions about minor irrigation projects in the state which were earlier implemented and are yet to be renovated or restored. Members of opposition pointed out how in the absence of repair work canal water is not being supplied to the agricultural fields.

“The state has taken charge of around 17 hundred 61 minor irrigation projects under its RRR scheme and this year alone, the target is to finish 69 projects,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Raghunath Mohanty informed the house.

Members across the party lines demanded allocation of more funds under RRR project and the Opposition demanded a prolonged debate which they were denied.
