Bhubaneswar: Alleging massive irregularities during polls in Ghasipura Assembly constituency under Keonjhar Lok Sabha seat, State unit of Congress on Sunday approached the Odisha State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) seeking repolling in 11 booths.

There were massive irregularities in webcasting of polling stations and CCTV installation at several booths in the constituency. Besides, wires connecting to the CCTVs at booth no 231 at Machholo were also disconnected, alleged Congress in a letter to the CEO.

Congress also alleged that, violating the EC guidelines to stay 100 metre away from polling stations, Padapadana block chairman entered into the polling booth no 275 and influenced the voters to cast their votes in his party's favour.

The party also brought serious allegations against polling staff stating that the officials and also the police personnel present at the booth remained a mute spectator to all those violation of norms.
