Cuttack: Alleging partiality by the poll observers of the Election Commission, Odisha Congress today asked the reason behind not recording the Salepur meeting of Minister Pratap Jena.

While the Congress' meeting in Mahanga was video recorded today by the poll observers, why the same was not done a few days back at Salepur where Pratap Jena organised the BJD party meeting and allegedly offered bribe to voters, questioned Satya Prakash Nayak, chairperson of State Congress Media Cell.

“This incident shows wherever BJD meetings are being held, the poll observers allow the ruling party leaders to lure and influence voters,” alleged Nayak.

On March 14, Jena openly announced cash rewards to people for voting his party, BJD to power.

Jena, while addressing a gathering during a party workers meeting in Mala of Salepur area was heard saying that his party would offer Rs 35 lakh cash to the panchayat and Rs 15 lakh for the booth which would give maximum votes to local BJD candidate Prasant Behera.
