Congress announces candidates for 7 Lok Sabha, 20 Assembly seats in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) today finalised the list of candidates for seven parliamentary and 20 Assembly constituencies of Odisha going to the polls in the third and fourth phase respectively.

As per the official declaration of the AICC, the party has fielded Odisha Congress Media Cell chief Satya Prakash Nayak from Puri parliamentary segment while senior leader KP Singh Deo has been declared party’s candidate from Dhenkanal LS.

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief Niranjan Patnaik’s son, Navajyoti Patnaik has been given ticket from Balasore and senior leader Dharanidhar Nayak has been fielded from Kendrapara.

Similarly, Fakir Mohan Naik will contest Lok Sabha elections from Keonjhar, Madhumita Sethi from Bhadrak and Pratima Mallick from Jagatsinghpur parlliamentary constituency respectively.

The AICC also released the list of candidates for 20 Assembly seats in the State.

Parjanga- Jasaswini Rout

Niali (SC) – Mamta Bhoi

Mahanga- Debendra Kumar Sahoo

Patkura Jayanta Mohanty

Tirtol (SC) – Bibhu Prasad Tarai

Puri- Auro Prasad Mishra

Nayagarh- Manoj Kumar Sahoo

Odisha will go to Lok Sabha and Assembly polls simultaneously in four phases. The State has 21 seats in Lok Sabha and 147 seats in Legislative Assembly, respectively.
