Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) released its second list of candidates for two Lok Sabha and 54 Assembly constituencies of Odisha. The party, through an official notification late on Friday night, released the list.
Samarendra Mishra, son of Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Narasingha Mishra will contest from Bolangir Lok Sabha seat while Saptagiri Ulka is in the fray from Koraput LS seat. However, the party is to announce its candidate for the Aska Lok Sabha seat, which will go to polls in the second phase.
So far, names of eight candidates out of nine Lok Sabha seats, which will go to polls in the first and second phase on April 11 and April 18 respectively, have been announced by Congress.
Similarly, names of candidates for 54 Assembly segments in the State was also announced. Bismaya Mahapatra, who was given a ticket from Digapahandi Assembly constituency in the first list, has been replaced by Prafulla Panda in the second list.
Besides, Ripunath Seth will contest elections against BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik from Bijepur while Saroj Mahapatra is in the fray from Bhatli. The sitting Congress MLA Prafulla Majhi, who has won thrice from Talsara Assembly segment and is considered a traditional stronghold of the party, has once again been fielded from the constituency.
Muktikanta Biswal, who had earlier dragged attention by walking 1,350 kilometres to Delhi to remind PM Modi of his promises for better facilities at Ispat General Hospital, has got a Congress ticket to fight Odisha Elections 2019 from Rourkela.

Jayadev Jena will contest from Anandapur while Biplab Jena will fight on Congress ticket from Angul. Nabin Nanda, who recently joined the Congress, will be in the fray from Dhenkanal. Nanda was earlier suspended from the BJD last year after he was arrested in connection with a sex racket in Kolkata.
Former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Prasad Harichandran will be in the fray from Satyabadi while Cuttack Nagar Congress president Mohhamed Moquim will contest from Barabati-Cuttack. Kotpad MLA Chandrasekhar Majhi, who had filed his nominations ahead of announcement of his candidature, will be contesting from Kotapad.
