Bhubaneswar: A national conference on tackling of Left Wing Extremism (LFW) was organized by the Home Ministry in the capital city today.

The meeting was chaired by Odisha DGP Sanjeev Marik and attended by intelligence heads of eight states – Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Bihar.

Sources said the point of discussion in the conference was steps taken by Odisha in successfully controlling Maoist menace in the past three years. Odisha shared its functioning and intelligence inputs with the participating states in the meeting.

Among others, joint director of the Home Ministry, senior officials of CRPF, BSF and Intelligence Bureau were present in the meeting.
