Dhenkanal: Dhenkanal district health officials yesterday filed a complaint against Bhushan Steel at Kanatabania in the district on charges of organising health camp without prior permission.

The action came after 21 villagers of Sarapa village who attended the health camp fell ill after administration of injections at the camp.

Following the incident the chief district medical officer of Dhenkanal Dr Sangram Keshari Das filed a complaint against the company at Kantabania police station alleging that though there is a provision to obtain necessary permission before arranging a health camp, Bhushan Steel failed to adhere the rules.

Notably, the company authorities organised the health camp and distributed medicines and administered injections to sick persons. However, 21 villagers fell sick due to side effect of the injection.
