Balasore: Body of a girl student was recovered from a bamboo bush near Naraharipur village under Remuna block in the district today.  The deceased has been identified as Supriya Behera, a Plus III third year student of Remuna College.

It is suspected that Supriya has been murdered as her throat was found to be slited. Though the exact reason is still unclear, it is suspected that the girl student has been killed over some 'love affair.

Earlier, the Supriya's father Harish Chandra Behera had had lodged a complaint at Remuna Police Station alleging that his daughter was kidnapped by a Sujan Puthal of Naraharipur village on Thursday.

As per the complaint, Supriya had gone to attend her tuition classes at Naraharipur village and did not return home yesterday.

“One of my relatives informed me that Sujan Puthal kidnapped my daughter while she was returning home from her tuition. I went to Puthal’s house and asked his mother about the matter. However, she did not listen to me and abused me” said deceased Supriya's father Harishchandra adding that Sujan and his family members were behind the murder.

Meanwhile, senior police officials have started an investigation into the incident.

“There is injury mark on the neck of the body and it is suspected that the girl has been murdered. Further details will be known after a detailed probe” said Ranjit Sahu, In-charge of Remuna Police Station.
