Cuttack: The city police today retrieved the body of a 20-year-old college girl from near a hostel inside Sailabala Women`s College campus here, the police said. While the fellow-students and college authorities claimed that the death of the girl could have been accidental falling from the hostel roof, her father said she did not commit suicide.
Informed by the college authorities, the police retrieved the body of Swayamsiddha Sahu, a Plus III first year science student, with severe wounds in the head. "We are investigating into the matter to ascertain the cause of death," said the Cuttack DCP S Praveen Kumar. Swayamsiddha was a studious student from Jaipur in Koraput district and her examinations were on, said her friends.
The girl`s father Hridananda Sahu who reached here after hearing of the incident, her daughter had been a brilliant student throughout her career. "I had talked to her over telephone and she was perfectly okay. She cannot commit suicide," he said. "The police must investigate the case properly to ascertain the cause of the death," he said.
