Odisha continues to reel under an intensifying cold wave, with temperatures dipping sharply across several regions. Interior and southern districts have witnessed particularly severe conditions, even as the Bhubaneswar regional Met office stated that no significant rise in night temperatures is expected over the next week.
Data recorded over the past 24 hours shows G. Udayagiri emerging as the coldest place in the state at 5.6°C. Other affected locations include Similiguda at 7.5°C, Daringibadi at 8°C, Rourkela at 8.1°C, Phulbani at 8.5°C and Jharsuguda at 8.6°C.
The persistent cold has begun to impact daily life, with residents reporting discomfort during the early morning hours. Dense fog conditions have added to the hardship, significantly reducing visibility and affecting vehicular movement in several areas.
