According to the Meteorological Department, Keonjhar recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius, while Chandbali registered 12.2 degrees. Bhubaneswar and Paradip both recorded a minimum temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius. The renewed chill is being attributed to a strong flow of cold and dry air from the north-western and northern directions, leading to bone-chilling conditions across the state.

Dense Fog Adds to Winter Woes in Odisha

Alongside the cold, dense fog has further disrupted normal life in southern Odisha. Kandhamal district is experiencing heavy fog, severely reducing visibility. In several areas, roads are not visible even from a distance of a few metres, creating difficulties for commuters. The situation is particularly severe in hilly regions, where the impact of the cold is more pronounced.
