Bhubaneswar: Cold wave condition will prevail and temperature will be below normal in most places of Odisha for the next three to four days, the regional Meteorological department informed.

Director of the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas said the mixture of dry air and cold winds from North-westerly direction is resulting in fall of temperatures across the State.

The Meteorological centre has further forecast that night temperature is likely to be below normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius at several places in the next 3-4 days.

With the entire State shivering under intense cold wave condition, mercury continued to dip in Kandhamal district.

The minimum temperature settled at 8.5 degree Celsius in Phulbani while Daringbadi, popularly known as Odisha’s Kashmir recorded a minimum of 7.5 degree Celsius, said reports.

Similarly, Keonjhar recorded 8.8 degree, Mayurbhanj (10.6) and Koraput 13.2 degree Celsius. Mercury plummeted to 13 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar while Cuttack recorded a minimum of 12.2 degree Celsius, reports added.

Shallow fog also covered isolated places in Angul, Balangir, Koraput, Kandhamal & Sonepur districts of interior Odisha.
