Bhubaneswar: There seems to be no respite from the intense cold wave in many parts of the state even as the temperature in almost all districts except Balasore and Malkangiri showed a little upward trend.

The temperature at many places has increased from 1 to 1.5 degree Celsius which led to a possibility of dense fog in the state, sources from meteorological department said. Cold wave still continues in the interior parts of Odisha while Phulbani has become the worst victim. The people here are found lighting bonfire to beat the winter while many prefer to remain indoor.

Likewise, Koraput witnessed a similar condition as cold wave coupled with breeze has put the life into disarray. Even the state capital has not been spared from the extreme condition. However, coastal districts have a little let up as there is a little rise in temperature.
