Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said that although Odisha had a stable government for the last 24 years, the State failed to achieve the expected industrial growth. He remarked that stability without progress was a “betrayal of Odisha”, adding that the earlier government missed the opportunity to trigger an industrial revolution despite having the mandate.

The ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ conclave aims to outline a clear industrial vision to build a developed Odisha by the year 2036. A two-day intensive brainstorming session (Manas Manthan) will be held to deliberate on strategies, reforms and opportunities needed to drive the State's industrial transformation.

“During the 24 years before our government assumed office in Odisha, there was a stable government. The people of our State are very nice, and they had given a stable government with the intention that the erstwhile (BJD-led) government would take Odisha further on the path of development,” the CM said while addressing a huge gathering.

“What to speak of only the development of industries in Odisha, even an industrial revolution could have been brought in the State during those 24 years, since there was one-man leadership and one chief minister led the State for such a long time,” the CM stated.

“However, this was not done, and you all are aware of it. It could be due to the lack of foresight of the then government, or the lack of political willpower. If a government is run the way an event is managed, how will Odisha progress?” CM Majhi expressed.
