Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated as many as 34 Wayside Amenities Centres at different parts of the state through video conferencing.

These amenities centres that have come up along the national and state highways will offer toilet, cafeteria and parking facilities for long distance travellers especially tourists and women travellers, informed Patnaik during the inauguration programme at the State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar.

While the centres at Jatamundei Chhak in Cuttack, Duburi-Kalinganagar in Jajpur, Odagaon in Nayagarh, Dhama in Sambalpur and Kapilash in Dhenkanal were dedicated to public by Patnaik, the remaining will be formally inaugurated by local leaders, informed sources.

While each centre has been set up with a budget of Rs 1.10 crore, the Works Department has been roped in for maintenance of the centres.
