Jeypore/Laxmipur: The curtain has come down on the twin Italian hostage crisis with the release of tour operator Paolo Bosusco on last Thursday while the other abducted Italian, Claudio Colangelo was freed by the Maoist abductors on March 25. Yet uncertainty still looms large over the release of Laxmipur MLA Jhina Hikaka who was kidnapped by the cadres of the Andhra-Odisha-Border Special Zonal Committee on March 23 in Koraput.

Chief Minister  Naveen Patnaik today met the family members of the abducted MLA at his house at Laxmipur during his Koraput visit and assured the family members to take all necessary steps to secure the release of the tribal legislator from the clutches of the Maoists. The Chief Minister also conducted a review meeting attended by the legislators from undivided Koraput district and higher officials of the district administration on the abduction crisis.

The family members and large number of supporters of the kidnapped MLA requested the Chief Minister to take steps for the immediate release of the legislator held in captivity for the last 21 days.
