CM Mohan Majhi hears public grievances at 17th Grievance Redressal Programme in Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Monday heard public grievances during the 17th grievance redressal programme held at the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell. The Chief Minister personally interacted with citizens and listened to their complaints, giving priority to persons with disabilities.

During the programme, CM Majhi first met differently-abled complainants and heard their issues. Several state ministers were present on the occasion, including Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, and Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Naik.

Complainants from various districts raised issues related to basic amenities, livelihood support, and pending welfare measures. Officials concerned were directed to examine the grievances and take necessary action.

One complainant said, “I’m from the state-level organisation, All Odisha Orthopedically Welfare Association in Palaspalli, which got seized and then handed over to us on 21st December, 2023. Although a complaint was registered with SSEPD two years ago, it has not been resolved. There is still no water or electricity supply in the building. We have informed the Chief Minister about our situation today.”

Another complainant, a differently-abled woman, highlighted her livelihood crisis. She said, “My stall has been repeatedly stolen. I came here requesting a permanent booth. As I am disabled, and have two small children, and my husband left me four to five years ago, I am struggling to support my 2 kids.”

The Chief Minister assured complainants that their grievances would be addressed on priority and directed departments to take prompt action.
