Jeypore: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today assured the family members of the abducted Laxmipur MLA Jhina Hikaka to explore all possible means to secure the release of the tribal legislator from the clutches of the Maoists. The Chief Minister today went to the house of the MLA at Laxmipur during his Koraput visit. The MLA was kidnapped by Maoists on March 23.

Earlier, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation at a crucial meeting held at the Koraput Circuit House. The Tribal Welfare Minister Lal Behari Himirika, legislators from the undivided district of Koraput and higher officials of the district administration attended the review meeting. The Chief Minister has once again appealed to the abductors to release the MLA unhurt.
