CM launches cycle for girl students programme
Addressing the people on the occasion, chief minister said that the programme would benefit especially the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe girl students in tribal dominated districts. Bi-cycles would be provided for the students in government as well as government aided schools. Naveen said that over one lakh girl students will be covered under the programme. Cycles would be distributed among 12, 000 boys too, he added.
The chief minister announced that scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students from class one to class eight would be provided school uniforms which would cost the exchequer about 70 crore. Naveen said that the government would provide a bank cheque of Rs 2600 to each girl student to purchase instead of supplying the cycles directly.
