Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated two industrial projects today and laid the foundation stones for 13 new projects through video conferencing from the State Secretariat.

The 15 projects, with a total investment of Rs 2,901 crore will provide employment to nearly 3,091 people in the State, informed sources.

Speaking on the occasion Patnaik said, the first edition of Make in Odisha Conclave held in 2016 was a success with an announcement of Rs 2 lakh crore investment intents.

“Odisha government has demonstrated its commitment to deliver projects on ground, which is reflected in the fact that out of these investment intents received, close to 65 percent projects are in various stages of approval and implementation,” said Patnaik.

Patnaik further said that Odisha is fast emerging as the manufacturing hub of eastern India and the government is working towards developing the State into a manufacturing hub of South Asia.

Efforts are on for port-led manufacturing units anchored by three deep water ports in State along the East Coast Economic Corridor, he said.

Moreover, Japan will be the country partner for the upcoming Make in Odisha conclave 2018, Patnaik informed.

Japan’s collaboration will provide a new impetus to relations with Odisha and will also open avenues for collaboration in varied sectors, he added.
