Class 10 student dies after falling unconscious at hostel in Odisha’s Ganjam

A Class 10 student of Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Centre at Khallikote in Odisha’s Ganjam district died after reportedly falling unconscious at his hostel on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Mihir Pradhan, son of Santosh Pradhan of Bagalpur village under Khallikote police limits. Mihir was staying at the school hostel while pursuing his studies in Class 10.

According to sources, Mihir suddenly collapsed inside the hostel premises in the morning. He was immediately shifted to the Khallikote Community Health Centre for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

On receiving information, family members and relatives of the deceased reached the hospital. Police also arrived and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Local MLA and the Tehsildar visited the hospital to take stock of the situation.

A pall of gloom descended on the hospital premises following the untimely demise of the student.
