CITU members stage ‘Rail roko’ over inadequate number of wagons

Sundergarh: Members of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) staged a ‘Rail roko’ protest at Bonai today over  inadequate number of wagons. The agitation was led by Bonai MLA Laxman Munda.

“We will continue our protest until our demands are met,” said Munda.

The protesters alleged that lack of adequate number of wagons is depriving the daily labourers from getting work. As per reports, members of the outfit staged agitation in Bimlagarh, Chandiposh, Raksi and Pattasahi areas demanding increase in supply of the wagons.

While Railway services have been adversely affected due to the protest, adequate security measures have been taken by the district authorities to avoid any untoward incident.
