Rourkela: A church father was killed with an arrow allegedly darted by a tribal of same community member, prompting villagers to lynch the accused at Badaraxi under Balanga Police limit in Sundargarh district.

Jibanmasi Munda (70), `Father` of a church at village Badaraxi in K Balang area, about 100 km from here, was allegedly struck with an arrow while Munda was reading in his house by Manamasi Topo (35) on Monday night.

While fleeing, Topo was chased and caught by angry villagers, who beat him to death, investigating officer B K Beg said. He said both belonged to the same community. Villagers claimed that Topo was mentally unstable and depressed for quite some time, Beg said.

While exact cause of the incident was yet to be ascertained, previous enmity suspected
