Baripada: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Wednesday sought an explanation from the Exam Centre Superintendent at MPC Autonomous College in Baripada following allegations of teachers checking the Plus II answer sheets in mobile flash-lights at the evaluation centre.

Since mobile phones are not allowed inside evaluation centres, the Council has asked the Centre Superintendent to submit an explanation in connection with the incident and also ordered re-evaluation of the papers checked under flash-lights at the College.

Deputy Controller of Examinations, CHSE Prasant Kumar Dash further raised concerns over the action of the teachers who checked the answer sheets in the darkness due to power outage.

“If there was darkness in the evaluation hall, the teachers could have stopped the evaluation till alternative arrangements were made,” said Dash.

It may be noted that around 150 teachers allegedly checked Plus II answer sheets under mobile flash-lights during a power outage at the College. The matter came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media and later telecast on TV channels.
