CHSE Plus-II practical exams in several colleges of Balasore postponed

Balasore: Reports of lapses during the practical examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) surfaced in several government colleges of Balasore today.

According to reports, the practical examinations could not commence in several colleges today allegedly due to delay in receipt of ‘practical examination list’ and admit cards of the students.

The practical exams were scheduled to begin today and continue till February 8. However, in Fakir Mohan Junior College the practical list and admit cards of the students reportedly arrived late on January 25 evening due to which it could not be distributed to the students.

“We received our admit cards today and college authorities informed us that exams will be held on January 30,” student Bharati Patnaik said.

Meanwhile, the college authorities said that the admit cards and list could not be provided to the students owing to holidays on January 26 and 27. A letter in this regard has been sent to the CHSE, they informed.

Fakir Mohan Junior College Principal, Minati Sethi said “The question papers did not reach us in accordance with the schedule given by the CHSE. We received the question papers yesterday for which it is not feasible for us to start examination today. Owing to the delay by the Council, we now need two days’ time to make arrangements and conduct the exams on January 30.”

“We received our admit cards today and hope that the practical exams finish on schedule,” Ashok Behera, another student said.
